Stopping the Smart TV Shuffle: How TV Wi-Fi Ruins SoundSend Performance

Most modern smart TVs (especially newer Samsung, LG, and Sony models) connect to your home internet wirelessly via their own built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi chips. If you have your WiSA SoundSend puck mounted directly to the back of your TV panel, you might be accidentally violating the 3-meter rule without even realizing it.

If your ceiling speakers or iO1 wall speakers are cutting out specifically when you stream high-definition 4K content, your TV’s internal Wi-Fi is likely interfering with your sound.

How the TV's Wi-Fi Steps on Your Audio

When you launch an app like Netflix or Disney+ to watch a movie, your TV’s internal antenna works overtime, pulling in massive amounts of video data. Because the SoundSend is plugged directly into the TV's eARC port right next to that antenna, the TV’s intense wireless activity chokes out the SoundSend's ability to broadcast cleanly to your Lithe Audio Pro Series or iO1 modules.

How to Fix It

  1. Ditch TV Wi-Fi: If your TV is close enough to your internet router or a network switch, plug a physical Ethernet/LAN cable into the back of the TV and turn off the TV's Wi-Fi in its settings menu. This silences the TV's internal wireless chatter.

  2. Drop the Puck: Don't Velcro the SoundSend puck directly to the back of the TV chassis near the ports. Use a longer HDMI cable to let the SoundSend hang or sit on a lower shelf, giving it some physical breathing room away from the TV's internal processors.
