The recommended distance between speakers can vary depending on the room or outdoor environment, and desired sound coverage. However, here are some general guidelines:
INDOOR:
For indoor settings, a recommended starting point is to place speakers about 1.5 to 2 meters (5 to 6.5 feet) apart. This distance helps to create a balanced stereo image and spacious sound stage.
However, it's important to consider the room size, speaker placement options, and any acoustic factors that may affect the sound distribution. Adjustments can be made based on personal preference and the specific characteristics of the room.
This range will allow you to optimize the performance of your speakers.
If your speaker is set to Mono, the distance between speakers is less critical, and you have more flexibility in choosing the distance as the stereo effect is no longer an issue.
OUTDOOR:
In outdoor environments, the recommended distance between speakers can be more significant due to the larger listening area and open space. A typical guideline is to have speakers spaced around 4 to 6 meters (13 to 20 feet) apart.
This range allows for proper coverage and dispersion of sound, ensuring that listeners throughout the outdoor area can enjoy a well-balanced audio experience. This setup will help create a balanced sound distribution across the outdoor space.
If the space does not have this width please ensure the the speakers are spaced equally apart as best as possible.
PENDENT:
For pendant speakers, we recommend suspending the speaker from the central point of the area. This positioning allows the speaker to create a sound bubble that envelops the entire area, resulting in high-quality sound coverage.
Note: It's worth noting that these are general recommendations, and factors like the speaker's power, and coverage capabilities, as well as the specific requirements of the event or setting, may influence the ideal speaker placement and distance. It's always recommended experiment with speaker placement to achieve the desired sound coverage and quality.
