Cinema Hub - Loud Audio Crackling or Pop and Drops at 120Hz/VRR Gaming
When playing a PlayStation 5 or PC gaming rig plugged into the Hub at 4K/120Hz with VRR enabled, is the audio crackling heavily or cutting out entirely after a few minutes.
High display refresh rates require massive bandwidth (Fixed Rate Link transmission) which can choke eARC audio return channels if cheap cables are used.
Ensure the HDMI cable running from the Cinema Hub's HDMI eARC Out to the TV is a certified Ultra High Speed 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 cable. If using a PC with an NVIDIA card, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to "Change Resolution," scroll down to "Apply the following settings," and change the Output Color Depth from 8 bpc to 10 bpc or 12 bpc. Forcing a higher, stable bit-depth locks the clock speed of the HDMI audio endpoint, stopping the crackle.
